From an other Indian point of view

This project was a very good learning experience for me, not only work wise, but more in terms of understanding the society I am leaving in and the present social problems.

In the last two weeks I got the chance to visit the some villages where MV Foundation is actually working with the children and also some school and the RBC camps where the students stay. I would like to mention about my experience on the last visit to the girls camp in Hyderabad.

It was the last day of our tour to visit the RBC camps and while returning back to the hotel, we decided to visit one more camp which is in Hyderabad before going back to the hotel.

The camp was located in the crowded part of the old city in an old school. We were told that majority of the girls here were working as domestic help in the cities. When we went there, they welcomed us and asked if would like to see a drama which they usually perform in villages and streets to promote actions against child labour.
In spite of not understanding the language, we were able to make out from the acting what the play was all about. The acting was fantastic and it was really an eye opener for us. Staying in India, I was not aware of these situations. I had heard about child labour and even seen, but after actually witnessing these incidents, I was able to get the real feal of the situation.

Apart from the work, we had a nice interaction among ourselves. It was great to interact with Mark and Geert. They were very enthusiastic to know about Indian culture and even try out different Indian food varieties.
We too got to know more about Netherlands from them, and would definitely like to visit it sometime in future.
